Look Out, McDonald’s; Wendy’s Might Be Coming for the McMuffin

It could be a Wendy’s breakfast bacon, a Taco Bell breakfast crunch wrap, or a McDonald’s McMuffin. No matter what you order, any restaurant has its unique menu items.

However, as we know, all is fair in love and fast food wars, and there’s no fiercer battle between Wendy’s and McDonald’s. That’s why we’re not too shocked to see Wendy’s add a new breakfast menu item that looks familiar.

Wendy’s morning menu will feature two new English muffin sandwiches starting on August 22. Indeed, an English muffin is the same bread used in the renowned McDonald’s sandwich—whose name is so strongly linked to early-morning fast food that a trademark protects it.

Although Wendy’s sandwiches resemble English muffins, they differ slightly. The brand states that when the English muffins are toasted, they will be topped with a unique savoury butter that “marries a hint of brown butter sweetness with fresh black pepper.” Furthermore, there are specific differences in the toppings.

McDonald’s New Sandwich Hitting Menu

Though we must confess, this sounds quite close to a Sausage McMuffin with Egg; who are we to complain? The second new sandwich consists of a freshly cracked egg, grilled sausage patty, and UK cheese on the toasted buttered English muffin. Since we already know that combination works, you can now use it in two locations. Okay, this one sounds like a sausage and egg McMuffin, but who are we to complain? There are now two locations where you can enjoy the combo as we know it works.

The new sandwiches will soon be available on menus, and as a bonus, for the first few days only, you may sample an English Muffin Breakfast Combo for just $2. You may save $2 on a new English Muffin Breakfast Combo when you order it using the Wendy’s app between August 22 and September 3.

When you redeem your deal in the Wendy’s app, you’ll receive $2 off the new breakfast sandwich, a side dish, and a drink (which may include Wendy’s new Frosty Cream Cold Brews). What a fantastic reason to reward yourself with a drive-through breakfast!

Whatever your favourite restaurant may be, you must realize that it’s always exciting to see these fast food chains compete—and usually to our advantage when we end up with such delicious cuisine! Who doesn’t enjoy a little friendly rivalry between opponents?

McDonald’s Lunch Menu Start

There is no official launch date yet, but it’s expected to be released soon.

If launched, the sandwich will likely be available at all Wendy’s locations that serve breakfast.

Wendy’s wants to disrupt McDonald’s breakfast hegemony by attracting customers with novel options and distinctive flavors.

Wendy’s is setting its sights on McDonald’s breakfast territory with a potential new sandwich that could rival the beloved McMuffin. With no confirmed release date yet, breakfast fans should watch for Wendy’s upcoming menu addition as they gear up to challenge McDonald’s morning meal lineup.
